Salon.com | The sacrificial lambs, the writer mentions that Afghanistan contributed US$100 to UNFPA (the U.N. Population Fund) - "$100 more than the richest country on earth contributed." (I assume this refers to last year.) That really makes my heart ache, that people suffering so much themselves still find it in them to give to others that they believe are suffering more than they are. It's a mark of the greatness of the human spirit, and a rebuke to the policies of George W. Bush's policies... Yeah, it's 'only' $100, but that $100 has greater value than the equivalent from the US, wouldn't you agree?
