I've been blogging a lot, haven't I? :)
I was just thinking about the amount of shopping I've done recently. I've spent hundreds of dollars; I have tons of new art reference books, leisure reading material, a new top, toiletries and skincare, art and craft materials.
I'll still be spending some $300 on my room, and maybe some more clothes and books. I'd like a couple of new tech toys, particularly a
new digital camera. A new flatbed scanner — for books — a USB print server for D's new apartment, a parallel print server for my own house, a massager for my poor sore back... things like that. Nothing terribly expensive except for the camera, but it all adds up. :) I guess what I'll have to do is to get the things I need now and in the near future, things that will be important for school, things that will keep things functioning smoothly for me, so that I don't have to stress while I'm in school.
A new digital camera will make it possible for me to expand my range; at the moment I'm running into situations all the time where my camera can't keep up with the kind of images I want to make. Also, when I get the new camera, my mom can have my current one. She's been talking about getting a digital camera and learning to take pictures properly for a while now. I think it's great that she's expressing an interest in 'techie' things — she's been learning to use her mobile more intensively, and ever asked about my Palm — and I'd like to encourage her.
New clothes... I mostly just buy a lot of basics at fairly low prices: tank tops at about $15-$30 a pop, things like that. Stuff that I think I'll wear a lot I don't mind spending more on, but I look out for quality so that it'll last a long time.
